Help: Keyword and Title
Keyword search
Keyword search is the fastest and most flexible method to search the stock.

Use the keyword search box to enter search terms which might occur in any of the following fields.

  • Title
  • Subtitle
  • Parallel title, uniform title, former title, main entry title, added entry (title)
  • Series title
  • Author, corporate author, added person, added entry (person)
  • Statement of responsibility
  • Subject headings
  • Area of interest
  • Enclosed works
  • Note
  • Annotation

How to enter search terms:

  • Keywords can be entered in lower or upper case.
  • Umlauts and special characters like the accent mark in the word géographie or the å in Småland do not have to be considered.
  • You can even enter several keywords which will be linked by the Boolean operator AND automatically.
Hint: Keyword search might result to a great number of hits. In that case just restrict the result list by entering at least one more search term.

Tip: To get optimal search results, enter your search terms into the appropriate search box.
Example: If you know the author of a (book) record, use the author search box for entering its name - not the keyword search box.
That's the fastest way to get the relevant hit(s).

Truncation and masking:
In this search box the truncation wildcard (right) has always to be entered manually.

Truncation on the right: yes
Truncation on the left: yes
Masking: yes

Title search

Use this search box to search an exact title resp. the exact beginning of a title or limit your search query to it.

If you know the exact title or the exact beginning of it, enter it into the search box.

  • Titles can be entered in lower or upper case.
  • Umlauts and special characters like the accent mark in the word géographie or the å in Småland do not have to be considered.
Truncation and masking:
Because you search on the title (beginning), truncation on the left is not possible for that search box. Maybe you will be asked to specify your search. That means a search term has to be entered which does not start with a wildcard.

Truncation on the right: yes
Truncation on the left: no
Masking: yes
